What has bptt done for Chaguanas?

THE EDITOR: The people of Chaguanas must take a bold stand and pull down that monster billboard that is placed in front of the old DMO office in Main Road Chaguanas, the present Mayor decided to spoil the look of Chaguanas rather than enhance it.

Three years ago I wrote the former Mayor asking him to  convert the  abandoned building into an art gallery for all the artists in Central Trinidad but the then UNC Mayor refused to even reply to me. Now an ugly sign stands up  in front of a disgraceful square that is supported by UTC fit only for vagrants and drug pushers, advertising bpTT, what has bpTT done for the people of Chaguanas? Do bpTT care about the thousands of people who had to abandon  schools and universities because their parents got fired from their jobs at Caroni (1975) Limited? What has bpTT done for these families, today  men and women have lost their dignity because they cannot feed, clothe or provide for their family. 

Did bpTT use any part of their millions to start any  social programme for the fired Caroni workers and their families? bpTT has no moral right to stand in Chaguanas. The present UNC Mayor is just a flash in a pan, he and his men certainly don’t have any vision for Chaguanas and Panday  their God don’t care about people only about himself and his bankbook, so he gave us a bunch of “yes men” to run the town. I am calling all who care about Chaguanas to join me in destroying that huge bpTT signboard in the heart of Chaguanas, let’s pull it down and dump it in the front of the home of the Mayor in Ramsarran Park. People willing to join me in dumping the billboard on the lawn of the Mayor can contact me at rawlinsboodan@hotmail.com
