Landslide woes on Saddle Road
THE EDITOR: Since the heavy rainfall, there has been a landslip on Saddle Road just before the turn off to Maracas Bay. At present, the road only allows single lane traffic, but as this landslip gets worse the connection to Santa Cruz is going to be difficult and dangerous. I ask Member of Parliament for St Ann’s East to look into this urgently, and not wait until Santa Cruz is cut off from Port-of-Spain via the Saddle Road. Some years ago, the Works Department constructed a new kind of wall on the way to Maracas, and that should be a quick solution to this major threatening problem.
