Police hold Western Union robbery suspect

THE third suspect in the recent robbery at Western Union, located inside Foodmasters Supermarket, Tunapuna, has been arrested while making a report at the Tunapuna Police Station. According to reports, moments after Jason Holder aka Aki, 25, was shot dead by a security guard last week and another suspect shot and captured following a botched robbery, the suspect walked into the station admitting that he was the original driver of the getaway car, but was thrown out in the St John area before the actual robbery because he had changed his mind.

The second suspect, who was caught hiding in a drain in El Dorado, was charged after his release from hospital. James Samuel, 25, of Maloney Gardens and Darryl Akal, 23, of Brown Trace, Tunapuna, yesterday appeared before Tunapuna Magistrate Gloria Jasmath charged with robbery with aggravation. They were not called on to plead and the matter was postponed to January 27.
