Thanks to PoSGH staff

THE EDITOR: So often, we find time to criticise the health service of Trinidad and Tobago when we believe things were not up to our expectations but seldom do we praise those hard working health workers whose efforts to provide prompt and efficient health care go unnoticed.

I had the pleasure of delivering my baby at the Maternity Unit of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital on Tuesday December 30, 2003. It was an agonising experience for me personally, but a very rewarding one, due to the excellent treatment I received from the staff on duty.
I would like to specially mention licensed midwife Bramble whose courteous, professional and caring attitude assisted me greatly during my delivery. Thanks must also be given to Staff midwife Castillo and trainee midwife Lucas.

To the other doctors and nurses who work on Wards 101 (the Labour Ward) and 301, I wish to express my sincerest thanks and deepest appreciation for a job well done. It is really unfortunate that a health service is so constantly and unfairly criticised, when staff who work at these institutions perform above and beyond the call of duty.
Once again my heartfelt thanks to you all and I wish you God’s blessings for the New Year. Keep up the good work.
