Three held with ganja near school

THREE MEN liming near a secondary school on Thursday were held with a bag of marijuana, police said yesterday. The men, aged 18, 20, and 26, were arrested near the Union/Claxton Bay Secondary School.

At around 4.30 pm, WPC Parvey and other members of the South Task Force were on patrol along the Old Train Line, St Margaret’s, when they saw the three men sitting on a table. They searched the men and allegedly found a black bag containing some 208 grammes of marijuana. Since the men were found in the vicinity of the school, they were charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

In an unrelated incident, police are searching for three suspects who robbed three men of their sneakers, jewelry, and cash. At around 6.45 pm on Thursday, Rishi Ramdial, 16, a labourer, Latchman Narine, 48, both of Penal, and Satnarine Baldeo, 31, a labourer, of San Fernando; were walking along Mucurapo Street, in the vicinity of Lord Street, when they were confronted by three men who beat and robbed them before making their escape on foot.
