bpTT, BWIA are not acronyms
THE EDITOR: My comment is for all writers who make the common mistake of calling bpTT “British Petroleum.” BP is no longer an acronym for “British Petroleum.” It’s simply “BP” and bpTT is BP Trinidad and Tobago. British Petroleum is non-existent after the merger with AMOCO which formed BP. Kindly advise writers as such. Also, the same mistake is made with BWIA West Indies Airways by several writers. BWIA is no longer an acronym. I have seen “British West Indies Airways” several times in your newspaper. There is no such company. Please inform. Thank you.
