Fireman among 4 held for gambling
A fireman with 11 years service was among four persons arrested and charged with assembling for the purpose of gambling. Reports revealed that around 9.30 am yesterday, a party of officers led by Ag Sgt Ajith Persad and including Cpl Vierreul and members of the Central Division Task Force went to the bar at Calcutta Road, Freeport, where they held four persons. A quantity of cards and cash were seized. Officers then went to a bar in Freeport where they arrested a 59-year-old man for selling liquor without a licence. Officers then went to Chase Village, where they also seized a quantity of alcoholic beverages and arrested a 62-year-old man. Those held will appear before a Chaguanas magistrate today.
