Congrats to ASJA for Eids celebration

THE EDITOR: I wish to congratulate the (ASJA) Anjuman Sunnat- ul-Jamaat Association for their commendable effort to celebrate the festival of the two Eids at the Charlieville Educational Complex on 18/01/04. It is the first time in Trinidad and Tobago that both Eids; Eid-ul-Fitr on the (25/11/03) and Eid-ul Adha on the (1/02/04), were focused on together, the latter being the Greater Eid. Eid-ul-Adha, the feast of the Sacrifice commemorates Prophet Abraham’s obedience and readiness to please his Lord and sacrifice his beloved first born son, Ishmael.

The Eid committee headed by Haji Yacoob and Haji Fazal did a wonderful layout on the grounds and together with the programme and lovely weather, made it a successful and very happy day for all of us. However, we missed our deep South Muslims. Therefore I wish to recommend a shuttle service from San Fernando to Charlieville next year, Insha Allah. We were quite honoured with the distinguished presence of Their Excellencies, The President of Trinidad and Tobago and his wife.
