Man charged for sex assault on girl, 12

A POINT FORTIN magistrate yesterday granted $200,000 bail to a 52-year-old Point Fortin taxi driver who appeared in court on two counts of serious indecency allegedly committed on a 12-year-old schoolgirl. The man appeared before Senior Magistrate Herbert Charles to answer the charges. Cpl Junior Geoffroy prosecuted in the matter. The first incident  is alleged to have occurred on January 22 at Granville, Cedros, while the second incident allegedly occurred at Clifton Hill, Point Fortin, on January 26.

According to reports, the victim told her parents about the incidents and was medically examined by a District Medical Officer (DMO). The matter was reported to Point Fortin police and investigations were conducted by WPC Paul. The man was arrested in Point Fortin on Tuesday. The matter was adjourned to February 6.
