Lack of publicity for NEC

THE EDITOR: Kindly permit me a space in your newspaper to express my views on media reporting of school graduation ceremonies and other events. It has cause me great pain to know what a great school Northeastern College is with a great staff and student population, yet we receive little publicity and recognition by the media.

Especially around graduation time, the most prominent schools that are featured are those like Halva College, Presentation College, QRC, St Joseph’s Convent and Lakshmi Girls. It has been such a common thing that it has become monotonous to the rest of schools. I think that other schools need to be featured also. There is a great probability that if Northeastern College asks for media reporting on a cricket match, walkaton, sports day or its graduation ceremony, sad to say it is not likely to happen. Come on, there are a lot of schools just like us who deserves equal merit. I hope to see a difference in this new year.
