Body found on Bus Route
Arima police are trying to identify the body of a young East Indian woman who was found dead on the Priority Bus Route on Saturday night 200 metres west of Olton Road, Arima. At around 9 pm residents of the area reported seeing the woman lying motionless on the PBR. The police were contacted and they in turn contacted the DMO who pronounced the person dead and ordered the body removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre. The woman who appears to be in her late 20s or early 30s is light brown in complexion, has short hair, is about five feet, eight inches tall.
When found she was wearing a long blue jeans and a maroon top. The body bore no identifications or any other distinguishing marks. There was also no signs of external injuries or broken bones which has ruled out a “hit and run” accident. Sgt Arlene Forde is spearheading inquiries.
