$.4 million in prizes at UTC Game Fishing

OVER $400,000 in prizes will be at stake at the Chaconia Income and Growth Fund International Game Fishing Tournament, scheduled from March 3-6 at the Trinidad Yacht Club, Bayshore, west Trinidad.

The event was launched at the Unit Trust Corporation (UTC) Financial Centre, Port-of- Spain on Thursday. UTC has endorsed the event since its inception in 1997 and will supply the Challenge Shield for the overall winner of the event, which is expected to attract anglers from the Caribbean, North America and the United Kingdom. The Game Fishing competition has raised funds for charitable means, and part proceeds of this year’s programme will go towards assisting HIV-infected pregnant women and babies, while the other sums will be donated to the Rotary Club of Diego Martin to aid in the development of the community. Registration fee for the tournament is $350 with the deadline set for February 22.
