B-ball workshop for teachers

PRIMARY SCHOOL teachers can impart some basic knowledge of the game of basketball to their students following a couple of two-day workshops on “Introducing Basic Basketball Skills.” The programmes will be held under the auspices of the Trinidad and Tobago Schools Basketball Association in conjunction with the Ministry of Education. Sessions will take place tomorrow and Wednesday at the Maloney Indoor Facility, while the Pleasantville Indoor Facility will be the venue for Thursday and Friday’s seminars.

The day’s proceedings, which will run from 9 am to 4 pm each day, will be conducted by a number of prominent basketball personnel, including Obadaya Asha from the University of West Indies (UWI) Sports and Education Centre, Trinidad and Tobago Basketball Coaches Association president Clement “Jovi” Holder and Trinidad and Tobago Basketball Federation vice-president Barry Jackson.
