Felix new CLICO t-tennis king

THERE was a tremendous upset at this year’s CLICO Classified Table Tennis Tournament at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex, Mucurapo. The new A1 Division champion is Arnold Felix who pocketed the $400 winner’s prize money, after beating Arima Hawks team-mate Reeza Burke 13-11, 4-11, 11-8, 3-11, 11-7, 1-11, 11-7 in the final. Previously, Felix downed national champion Anthony “Sandfly” Brown four sets to one.

Khellon Roach and Lisane Miller were also among the title winners with Roach taking the Men’s A2 Division title with an 11-5, 11-7, 11-4, 11-13, 16-14 triumph over Michael Nanton, while Miller eased past Laureston Special 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7 in the B Division decider. David Singh overcame a tough battle against Haadji Brooker to prevail 11-6, 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5 in the Men’s C Division final. The Women’s ‘B’ and ‘C’ finals went to a maximum five sets, with Kerryanne Noreiga squeezing past Ayanna Barnwell 13-15, 11-3, 11-6, 16-18 and 11-6 while Kristen Scipio defeated Avernelle Abraham 11-8, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-1.
