West Indies ‘B’ score 242
ST JOHN’S: West Indies “B” compiled 242 against Jamaica yesterday, the third day of their Carib Beer Cricket Series match at the Stanford Cricket Ground. The Jamaicans were 11 for one in reply at the close. The young Windies recovered from losing three wickets in the morning session after the team had resumed on their overnight score of 46 for two. The team ended on 114 for five to keep the Jamaican attack at bay.
Rains have affected the match, also forcing a very late start on Saturday afternoon. Captain Gareth Breese captured three wickets to put Jamaica on solid ground against West Indies “B” before lunch as it reached 114 for five. Jamaica lost the wicket of Brenton Parchment (duck) who was run out by Hyatt. But Mario Ventura (eight not out) and Keith Hibbert (three) survived until bad light stopped play with 14 overs remaining.
