TT, Jamaica in tight battle
NAIN, St Elizabeth — Jamaica, set a 265-run victory target by Trinidad and Tobago, were making a bold attempt and today’s final day should provide an exciting finish. When stumps were called on the third day yesterday, Jamaica were on 97 for one wicket, needing another 168 runs to complete a come-from-behind victory in their sixth round Carib Beer Series match at the Alpart Sports Club. Trinidad and Tobago resuming on 76 for one wicket stumbled to 182 all out, with skipper Daren Ganga hitting a polished 77 and brother Sherwin getting 26.
Young pacer Andrew Richardson took four wickets for 35 runs and Odean Brown four for 50 to bowl Jamaica in with a chance of winning. After losing the early wicket of Brenton Parchment, Donovan Pagon and Maurice Kepple batted determinedly to guide Jamaica to the close without losing another wicket, putting on 60 for the second wicket. At close, Pagon was on 38 not out and Kepple 33 and will attempt to take their team to the victory target on today’s final day.
