Paul wins second TTCF Road Race

Paul completed the 32-mile trek in 1:17.00 (one hour seventeen minutes). He defeated over 130 other cyclists who all began their journey from Hillcrest Gardens, Retrench to Chase Village and back. However, Paul’s time was just one minute outside the bonus time of 1:16.00.

Runner-up spot was Degree Madonna Wheelers rider, Roger Smart while Kwesi Browne of Arima Wheelers came in third.

Rounding off the top five Open finishers were Gevan Samuel (Team Trek) and Mark Ogiste (Heatwave), who came in fourth and fifth respectively.

Riding for new club Bike Smith, Paul has now placed in the top 10 in the first two events of the of the 2012 season and is showing a good turn of speed, especially in bunch sprints.

After the two Open road races, Paul and Team Foundation’s Adam Alexander are tied at the top on seven points each. Following closely behind is Smart on six points. Alexander was the winner of TTCF’s first road race.

However, leading the overall team standings are Arima Wheelers on 63 points. Presently in runner-up spot is Degree Madonna (40pts) and third Bike Smith (37pts).

In other races, Heatwave’s Louise Smart also rode to victory in the Women’s Senior division. She defeated teammate Alexandra Consten, third placed Giselle Craigwell (Slipstream) and fourth spot Aziza Browne (Arima Wheelers).

Taking top honurs in the Tinymites division was Lorenzo Orosco of Hummingbird International.

Arima Wheelers’ riders Sadiki Daniel, Chaquille Henry, Marcus Boneo completed the top four respectively.

Rigtech Sonics’ Kent Luces raced to the top of the Masters Over-60. Earl Mcleod Rafmon (Heatwave) was runner-up while Godfrey Clyne and Joey Nunes of Southcaline came in third and fourth respectively.

Additionally, Arima Wheelers grabbed the top three spots in the Junior Division. Kwasi Browne won the event with Marcel Barrington and Samuel Alleyne second and third respectively.
