Latoya is Tobago Carnival Queen
Twenty-two-year-old Latoya Morrison, parading in carnival costume “Sweet T&T” designed/made by Stephen Deryck, and a gown titled “Reflections of the Emerald Jewel,” captured the Tobago Carnival Queen 2004 title from a field of nine contestants at Shaw Park Cultural Complex Friday night. Morrison, of Mt St George, also copped the Best Costume special award and placed third in the Best Gown category.
Josie Ann Job, of Moriah, took second spot, as well as the Best Gown special award in a Cindy-Ann Job creation titled “Radiance.” Her carnival costume was called “Queen of the Lands.” Third was Marissa Edwards, of Pembroke, in costume “Pride of Pembroke” and gown titled “Temptation.” Meantime, Miss Black Rock, Karesia Horsford placed second in the Best Gown category, sporting an Amryl Douglas creation titled “The Golden Touch.” In the Best Costume segment, Natalia Murray, of Canaan/Bon Accord, placed second with her portrayal “God of Light,” followed by Miss Carnbee, Jamelia Anthony in a costume titled “Flight of Love.”
