Windwards beat West Indies ‘B’ by nine runs

ST GEORGE’S:  The Windward Islands beat the West Indies “B” by nine runs yesterday, the final day of their seventh-round Carib Beer Series regional cricket match at the Queen’s Park  Stadium. The Windward team needed only eight runs for victory at the start of the session.

The Windwards’ opening pair of Devon Smith and Rommel  Currency quickly claimed it before the scheduled lunch period. Currency was not out on eight and Smith undefeated on three. The Windward Islands placed third overall in the tournament and will face Jamaica in Kingston in the semifinals.
