Carnival and saving?

THE EDITOR: In juxtaposition, two news captions in a popular Daily of measures advocated by the Minister of Public Utilities and the Ministry of Education seem to be at cross-purposes. Caption a) Teach children to save — Beckles 12/2/04; Caption b) Students to get carnival lessons 2/2/04.

At the risk of raising a hornet’s nest around my head, I make bold to state that few people can gainsay the fact that the caption at ‘b’ unlike the one at ‘a’ is synonymous with recklessness, abandon, waste and wanton profligacy.
