Bandits rip hijab from victim’s head

A DEVOUT Muslim woman had her hijab (head scarf) pulled off her head by two bandits who robbed her of $200 and a cellular phone, after the bandits struck the woman’s car with their vehicle, causing her to stop at the side of the road early yesterday morning.

Alisha Hosein, of Marabella, told police that around 2.30 am, while proceeding along M2 Ring Road in her Mazda 323 car, a black Kingswood struck her vehicle from behind, causing her to park the car at the side of the road to investigate the damage. Without warning, two mask-ed men alighted from the Kingswood and proceeded to rob Hosein. The men ripped off her hijab before returning to their vehicle and speeding off. Hosein reported the matter to San Fernando police who up to late yesterday had not arrested anyone and are continuing investigations.
