Bravo in Vice-Chancellor’s XI

ST JOHN’S: The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has named the University of the West Indies Vice-Chancellor’s XI to face England from Thursday to Saturday at UWI, Mona campus, Jamaica. Included in the team are Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, West Indies pacer Jermaine Lawson, who is recovering from injury and re-modelling of his bowling action, as well as Kenyans Steve Tikolo and Kennedy Otieno who took part in the Carib Beer tournament. Jamaican David Bernard who scored 120 against Windward Islands on Friday, his second first-class century, is also in the squad along with young Barbados speedster Ryan Nurse and Jamaican quickie Jason Bennett. Bravo had a very productive season scoring 461 runs at 37 per innings, and taking 28 wickets at 13.46 each.

England will play a Jamaica XI in the first match of their two-month tour of the Caribbean starting tomorrow at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
