Jamaica, Windwards in tame draw
ST ELIZABETH: Jamaica and the Windward Islands played to a draw in their Carib Beer International Series cricket semi-final yesterday at Jamaica’s Alpart Sports Club. Keith Hibbert was unbeaten on 102, his maiden regional first-class century which included nine fours and three sixes, and Carlton Baugh was on 40 when play was called off with Jamaica 372 for five wickets in their second innings, an overall lead of 461 runs.
Play was called off 15 minutes after tea by umpires Eddie Nichols and Basil Morgan and match referee Hugh Perry, following bottle-throwing by spectators who were angry the Jamaicans did not declare their second innings and set the Windwards a target. Jamaica who led on first-innings, will play Carib Beer Series league winners Barbados in the final starting March 26 in Bridgetown. Jamaica resumed the fourth and final day at 145 for two, with Tamar Lambert on 30 and Donovan Pagon with 13.
