Pave The Way heads Royal Colours

ST JAMES Stakes winner Pave The Way heads a list of 15 three-year-old horses for which third and final subscriptions have been paid for the Grade 2 Royal Colours Classic. The Junior Sammy-owned colt by Freshly Squeezed /Smoothawn will face St Ann’s Stakes surprise winner Trini To D Bone, the improving filly French Academy, and speedsters Euro Star, Java Takeover and Melanie My Love in the 1350 metres race. Subscriptions totalling $23,500 were paid up for the race to be run at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on March 13.

Meanwhile, a disappointing seven horses had second subscriptions paid for the Starlight Stakes to be run on the same day over an identical trip. And the seven include Smooth Operator for which a penalty of $1,400 was paid. Runners in the Royal Colours Classic are: Banditkoot; Dealer’s Choice; Euro Star; French Academy; Java Takeover; Melanie My Love; Nowornever; Over And Above; Pave The Way; Philadelphian; Private Affair; Privilege; Salsa Moves; Second Chances; Trini To D Bone. And those in the Starlight Stakes: Due Dilligence; Man Of Class; Millenium Reign; Naturelly Classy; Phantom Menace; Punto A Punto; Smooth Operator.
