Central Sports go after Comet again today
Tile It Central Sports will come up against Alescon Comet in the second round 2004 Carib Sheild limited overs competition at Pierre Road, Charlieville, Chaguanas today. Central Sports hammered Comet in a major National League upset on Sunday and will be looking to defeat the 2004 Carib Sunday League finalists today as well. In their line-up is inform batsman Satish Naidoo and top Guyanese allrounder Lennox Cush.
Comet, on the other hands will be licking their wounds and preparing to exact revenge on the Tilemen. The other Group “B” encounter will pit Las Lomas against fellow national Division Two team Police Sports in the east. In Group “A”, Ceramic Trinidad Merryboys will take on Aranguez, and are certain to get their second win of the series and book a place in the quarter-finals. Queen’s Park, who defeated Aranguez last week will start as favourites against Moosai’s Sports at the Oval in Port-of-Spain. In Group “C”, the key battle will see Preysal against crosstown rivals Wanderers at Inshan Ali Park. The other match is between Munroe Road and Couva Sports at Cunupia.
In Group “D”, lowly Green Arrow take on Mayo Valleyboys, while all attention will be focused on the Penal derby, where Clarke Road and PowerGen exchange blows. The two teams have been the creating the greatest rivalry this season with PowerGen defeating Clarke Road in the semi-finals of the Sunday League and Clarke Road taking first innings points in their National League encounter last weekend.
