Many factors causing Saddle Road traffic

THE EDITOR: I wish to respond to the letter by A Telfer of Maraval who blames the Blackman’s School and St Andrew’s School for the traffic on Saddle Road. I have written letters before about the problem with the traffic on Saddle Road on working days. What people need to realise is that the housing in Moka and environs is growing at a large pace and in every garage you see two or three cars. There are more cars on the road. Also, when you drive on the Saddle Road you bounce up the cars coming out of the side roads, the taxi drivers stopping for their pickups, the drivers coming out of Fairways via Valleton Avenue, so it is a whole list of things which contribute to the traffic situation. I think it is unfair to blame the schools for the traffic situation in Maraval and I would suggest to Mr Telfer that he gets up a little earlier on mornings to get to work on time.
