Crabs climb El Tucuche in UWI football

EASTERN Football Association hot shots Crab Connection crushed El Tucuche 5-0 when action in the UWI Employees Super Football League 2004 got underway. The Crabs had a double from Marlon Warner and further goals from Stephen Best, Michael Alexis and Warren Butler in Sunday’s match at the UWI Grounds, St Augustine. And Princes Town Youths scored  double victories in weekend action. The Princes Towners edged Buckingham 1-0 on a goal by Devon Gomes, then shut out Gems 5-0 with Stephen Brereton scoring a double, Cliff Surajbally, Adrian Hill and Cling Moore adding the other goals.

Cote Si Cote La Amen edged Standard Distributors 2-1 on a double strike by Clinton Corbin.  On Sunday they played to a 1-1 draw with Economy Strikers with Oliver Boucaud scoring.  An own-goal gave Strikers a point. TSTT whipped UWI 2-0 in the Over-40 Division and Pioneers/Defence Force and Ambassadors drew 2-2. Richard Fraser and Julien Bentick got goals for the Pioneers, while Glen Rampersad got both goals for the Ambassadors. In Women Division action, CCC crushed Cruz International 6-0 with national striker Leslie Ann James scoring four goals and Stacey Ann James getting a double.
