ASJA must not compromise Islam

THE EDITOR: How dare ASJA ban a learned scholar from lecturing when what he said is 100 percent fact? We all know that many people even non-Muslims will sell their souls for a US visa and anyone who is not aware of this is living in a hole. Before ASJA goes about condemning people that stand up for their religion maybe they should look within and deal with the many issues that are inherent in their own organisation. They have done very little or nothing for Muslims in this country and from what I see as public opinion they do not have the support of the majority of Muslims.  I attend Jumah at a so-called ASJA masjid and they denounce any association with ASJA.

I dare ASJA to hold countrywide elections and see if they even get one executive elected, people are not as stupid as they think. Recently they dismissed Maulana Nassir as their spiritual leader and the only wrong he committed is insisting in what is right. By the way this said Maulana is one of the top lecturers in TT and there is nothing that ASJA can say or do to change that. If one were to look at the very executive that comprises ASJA they should all be banned for their poor attitude towards women, blatant hypocrisy and unislamic business practices.

It is indeed time that one or two more ogranisations in TT be recognised by Government because this is the case with all other religions, eg: SDMS and SWAHA. We have seen that ASJA is not even taken seriously by the past and present government; proof of this is the absence of Mr Manning at their two Eid functions and the financial input by government towards Muslim organisations. Let us not be thwarted by the backward thinking of these individuals who have their own interest at heart and care very little for the true Muslims of this beloved country.

To Maulana Hosein, you will be welcome wherever you go and remember that masjids are the houses of Allah and no one can keep you away. If you are to be banned then over 50 percent of American citizens should be removed from the US because they make anti US statements on a daily basis. Also recently local pastors have spoken about the injustices placed on the Iraqis by the Americans. Maybe we should classify all these people as fanatics.

To Mr Shah, as far as I see anyone that prays five times a day, fasts in the month of Ramadan, gives charity and believes in the Oneness of God is a fanatic to you. With prayer everything is possible, maybe you should try it. I ask for those in authority to come together and let us show the world why ours is the fastest growing religion in the world.
