Beacon ride into Arima velodrome

ACTION in the 2004 Beacon Insurance West Indies vs The World Cycling Series will continue this evening with track events at the velodrome at the Arima Municipal Stadium. First race is scheduled for 7 pm.

Among the events on tonight’s slate are the international five-lap, double-devil, one-lap, three-lap and the feature event, the 25-lap, which is expected to see national road race king Emile Abraham and Guyana-born rider Stephen Mangroo and Elisha Greene gritting it out against Englishman Peter Jacques, Australian Jeff Hopkins, Guyanese Tyrone Hamilton, Cuban Joel Marino and Italian Richard Chiappa. There are also events scheduled for women, juniors and veterans.
