M&M squeak past Netaces netballers

THERE was tremendous excitement coming from the netball “babes” in the Barbara Chandleur “B1” Division and Barbara Burnette “B2” Division of the Port-of-Spain Netball League at the Lystra Lewis Courts, Princes Building. M&M Uppers squeaked past Netaces 15-14 in their match on Tuesday, while Harlem edged Arima United 17-16.


In their fixture, Samantha Joseph scored all 15 goals in the M&M Uppers victory.  Afiya Julien got 12 goals and Michelle Callender had two for Netaces. And Harlem got 10 goals from Raisa Thorne and seven from Cheryell McIntosh. Murlin Paul got 11 goals and Stacy Patron put in five for the Arima girls.


In another close encounter, Gems beat Mucurapo Junior Secondary 13-9 with Joanne Kirton scoring 12 and Alicia Alexander, one.  Sherry Ann Mottley and Jhinelle Bailey both scored four goals and Adonis Nicholas had one for the losing team.
