CUT congratulates Brian Lara

THE EDITOR: The Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) joins with the rest of the Caribbean community in extending congratulations to Mr Brian Charles Lara for such a magnificent performance. He has not only restored some dignity to a game that has been seen as a unifying force for Caribbean people but has inspired the Caribbean citizenry, especially our youths, through his grit and determination.

Our young West Indians are very much aware of Mr Lara’s greatness as a cricketer. We hope that our Caribbean governments would seize the opportunity and allow him to be that motivational force and guiding light to the young people of the Caribbean, especially the disadvantaged ones. Let us thank God for this man and his talent.
