NO CHEAPER RATES BETWEEN CCTT & TSTT

THE EDITOR: The CCTT monthly charge for basic cable channels is $197.40. Other services like Internet Access via the Cable Line offer residential rates at $399 and business rates as high as $3,000 per month. Based on this information customers can easily see that the wide range of the services, CCTT offers are not affordable to low income families in TT due to non competitive rates for example TSTT Residential ADSL (High Speed Internet Access) offered at $400 with the same service being offered at $399 per month by CCTT.

The Caribbean and the rest of the world have multiple Internet Service Providers’ where consumers benefit from consolidated services and affordable rates. For instance Rogers AT&T in Canada, which provides a discount for, the package selected by customers accessing two or more services (Telephone, Cable TV and Internet Access). In closing globally rates keep falling! Why is it that the people of TT are being made to pay higher rates for Internet Access?
