Patrons not safe with ‘disclaimer policy’ at Trincity Mall

THE EDITOR: It is with great disappointment and anger that I pen this letter. On Monday I visited the Trincity Mall to see a show at Caribbean 8 cinema. At about 3 pm I emerged from the cinema to find to my consternation that my car had been broken into. The thieves could not get my car to move because of the immobiliser and kill switch. But in their efforts they broke my car door, totally destroyed the electrical system and the ignition panel. The thieves also broke into the car next to mine but were unable to steal that car.

When I approached the three guards who were standing about ten feet from my car they told me that the mall had a disclaimer policy and the best thing for me to do was to make a police report and a wrecker. My question is where were these guards when these two cars were being broken into? I have heard of other cars being broken into and stolen since the mall’s expansion. Come on HCL, a disclaimer isn’t enough. Install enough guards and some system so that people will feel safe to visit your “millennium vision.” If not then my business isn’t the only one you’ll lose.
