Sports Medicine clinic at Macoya starts Wednesday
THE Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence at Macoya, Tunapuna, will be the venue for the first Sports Medicine Clinic in the English-speaking Caribbean. According to Sports Medicine and Injury Rehabilitation Clinic (SMIRC) medical director Dr Terence Babwah, the clinic will be held at the Andre Kamperveen Hall starting 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
Dr Babwah said the clinic will serve athletes of all status and will have a sports medicine physician, physiotherapist, nutritionist, sports therapist, massage therapist and conditioning trainers. The opening ceremony is to be addressed by CONCACAF president Jack Warner; CONCACAF director of development Richard Brathwaite; and West Indies opening batsman Daren Ganga.
