26-year-old man shot dead

A 26-year-old man was shot dead while on his way home on Monday night. Robert Jackson alias “Slasher” of Morvant was last seen alive at the home of his girlfriend. Reports revealed that around 10.10 pm, a passerby saw the body of Jackson in a track. He was shot once in the head. Police investigators believe that Jackson was shot and killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the track. His death pushed the murder rate to 85 persons murdered for the year. Relatives of the dead man remained baffled over his murder. They said that he troubled no one and was not involved in any gang.
