Hochoy has a crime plan for Tobago

MINORITY Leader in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), Hochoy Charles, says he has a plan that will reduce crime in Tobago within five months — and he is willing to share it with the PNM-led THA administration. Charles, political leader of the Democratic Action Congress (DAC), said he was “convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that crime is going to be on the increase in Tobago and that the Executive Council of the THA and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago do not have a clue” on how to solve it.

He said he was confident the plan would yield positive results in less than five months but declined to give further details, claiming he did not want to give the criminal elements an opportunity to “counter what we are trying to do.” “When you do that, what you are doing is to alert the criminal elements who are out there about what you intend to do. They will then prepare their own counter-position or prepare to operate at a more superior level than what you are attempting to put in place.”
