Not This Time coming to his best

IT seems like it will be this time, as Not This Time showed he is getting his act together in a sharp gallop at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday. A good fourth in his last start over 1350 metres, the Shaffique Khan-trained American-bred three-year-old was relishing the sloppy ground conditions in his 1000 metres gallop, and rushed back to clock 1:01.69 seconds. This Formal Dinner/Robins Gone offspring which is owned by popular turfite Dr Rupert Indar, is being pointed for the 1200 metres race for imported maiden three-year-olds and over, with a total purse of $21,000.

Not This Time is improving steadily and turfites are forewarned to keep him on the right side in their reckoning. Another to show a liking for the underfoot conditions was Return To Sender who went over the same distance in 1:07.31 seconds. There were few gallops yesterday morning, however, with most stables preferring to do pace work in preparation for next Saturday’s 10-race programme.
