Trincity win 4-2 in UWI football

UWI Employees Super Football League leaders Trincity Nationals thumped Cruz International 4-2, when action in the knockout phase opened at UWI ground. Kevin Joseph scored a double and Joel Fraser and Joel Reyes got one apiece for the Trincity lads in Sunday’s game.  Ruthven George scored both goals for Cruz. And First Division (Group 2) joint leaders Princes Town Youths and Prestige Auto SAC both advanced with victories. SAC edged Gems 2-1 with Marvin Bravo and Mark Leslie scoring one goal each for the winners.  Edwin Humphrey got the lone goal for the losers.

Princes Town youths shut out Futgof 2-0 in their game. But House of Dread, joint leaders in First Division (Group 1) stunned Premiership second placed Maloney Two Touch 2-1 with Winston Bareza and Michael Waldron doing the damage.  Cordell Lucas got one back for Maloney. In women action, Tiacho Stingrays extended their lead at the top of the standings to five with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Cruz International on Sunday. But Cruz collected their first point of the season from a 1-1 draw with Memphis Girls on Saturday.

Debbie Delandro (Cruz) equalised Kermica Alexander’s goal for the Memphis team. CCC snuffed out UWI Girls 3-0 in their game on Saturday. Moosai Sports completed their schedule in the Over-40 Division with a 4-0 victory over Pioneers/Defence Force with both Noel Edwards and Lincoln Augustus scoring doubles. And UWI stopped Benfica 2-0 on a Richard Williams double to close out their season. Happi Foods Flippers shut out Atletico 4-0 with Sekou Long scoring a hat-trick and Nkosi Strong the other to widen their lead over idle Honved in Group B of the Premier League.
