Caribbean Star named PM golf silver sponsor
For the second consecutive year Caribbean Star Airlines has been named the Silver Sponsor of the Prime Minister’s Charity Golf Classic. The tournament returns to the Petrotrin, Point-a-Pierre Golf Club today under the patronage of Prime Minister Patrick Manning. Now in its eighth year the classic has raised over $600,000 to help the Blind Welfare of Tobago, Lady Hochoy Home, Tobago AIDS Society, New Life Ministries Children’s Home and the House of Young Christians among other causes and institutions.
Caribbean Star has also sponsored the team of Roger Tom Yew and Dennis Layne. Chief Operating Officer Paul Moreira stated that he expects an excellent performance from the pair and he also said he was impressed with the distribution of funds raised by the classic over the years. Moreira urged more corporate citizens to come forward and support the event as it has proven to be a worthwhile investment in the welfare of the nation. Caribbean Star’s marketing team will be present at the venue today to distribute information and giveaways to players and spectators. The Prime Minister’s Charity Golf Classic begins today promptly at 9.45 am.
