On the death of a child

THE EDITOR: It is very painful seeing where a lot of people are losing sons these days. I felt like writing this to show my concern and solidarity with the unfortunate mothers.

Oh, why come we into this world?
Surely no one knows.
A hundred people a hundred explanations hold
But no one really knows

Some sages seek to pacify
Karma! Karma is what they say
When relatives die and we cry.
Every body have to go one day.
I am sure God knows how much we bear

I am sure He knows we suffer.
Bringing up children takes so much care
Giving them all we have to offer

Now this! What fault of his?
Just so his time come?
Just so his name is struck off the list?
That cannot be fair to some.

People come and speak and go
They say he is with God on another stage
But what do they really know?
My heart is about to burst with rage!

Where is that God who is held so dear?
Is this proof of His power?
Did He give me this to bear
And make my life turn sour?
