Fund raiser for cancer hospice

THE EDITOR: The Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society in its continuing efforts to alleviate the current devastation of many of our citizens’ lives, is seeking to establish a Hospice for terminally ill cancer patients in Chaguaramas. This facility will provide a level of comfort and care for many persons who may be in their last days. Persons at that stage are very often unable to obtain from family members the kind of care required to maintain some quality of a life. In other cases, there are no family members.

In keeping with the Society’s commitment to the general public, but lacking the necessary finance to construct and equip the Hospice, (which will cost in excess of $30M), we are embarking on a fund-raising venture at the Hilton Trinidad Hotel on Friday June 18, 2004, which will consist of an evening of Greek entertainment. As you may be aware, the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society is a non-profit organisation which relies heavily on responsible corporate citizens to assist with its growing annual fund-raising goals.
