Salsa Moves steps lively at gallops

EIGHT runners will go to post for the feature Starter Allowance on Day 16 of the Arima Race Club season at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday. And the winner of this 1100-metres event scheduled for the turf track will pose a headache for turfites, with the speedy Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj pair Salsa Moves and Java Takeover holding the engagement, along with Lady Honoree and Twice Infallible. Also in the lineup for the dash which carries a total purse of $23,000 is Bandinthong who will be ridden by champion jockey Brian Harding.

Entries for the 10-race programme were released by the ARC yesterday. And the speedy Maharaj colt Salsa Moves showed he is ready for all with a good run over 400 metres in 23.98 seconds on a track made sloppy by overnight rains. Another to flash some speed yesterday morning was Rebel Music who stepped 600 metres in 35 seconds flat.  This holds the engagement for the 1250 metres sprint for imported maidens.
