UWI knockout ‘semis’ Sunday

MARACAS Royal Road and Happy Foods Flippers will square off for the UWI Employees Super Football League Premier Division title. The Maracas men edged Maloney Two Touch 3-2 on Sunday last to advance, with Aaron Mejias scoring a double and Hayden Vincent the other.  Dave Alexander and Kevin King got goals for the losing team. And Flippers got goals from Sterling Arjune, Kwesi Peterson and Canute Cato in their shut out of Trincity Nationals. The First Division crown will be decided between House Of Dread who crushed Princes Town Youths 5-1, and East West Coaching School who got past Prestige Auto SAC 3-1 on penalties, after the teams played to a thrilling 3-3 draw.


A double from Fabian Scantlebury, and goals from Kevin Baptiste, Michael Waldron, Winston Beraza led “The Dread” to their victory.  Cliff Surujbally got the loner for the youths. Kendall Alleyne, Kwesi Richards and Jeff Headley got a goal each for East West, but Garth Goodridge, Stephen Gray and Jason Bagoo matched them for SAC. L-Sporto Crab Connection take on Trincity Nationals and House of Dread meet Aston Villa in knockout semi-finals on Sunday. Action in both games kick at off 4 pm.
