InvesTT seeking to rebrand Trinidad and Tobago

The project, aimed at creating greater global awareness of what TT has to offer to investors and tourists alike, is being coordinated by InvesTT.

Chairperson of InvesTT Kristine Gibbon-Thompson said, “It’s all about building the awareness of TT as an investment destination, and what we have to offer. So whether we’re selling investment opportunities, steelband, cricket, culture or food festivals, they would have the same overall look and feel for TT.”

She spoke to Newsday about the branding exercise on Monday while at a Christmas function for State Boards under the purview of the Ministry of Trade.

The event, “An Evening of Fine Dining,” was held at Apsara restaurant, Queen’s Park East, Port-of-Spain.

A “Country Branding” steering committee was formed earlier this year and a request for proposal (RFP) issued in July.

The committee includes representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, Tobago House of Assembly, ExporTT, InvesTT, the TT Manufacturers’ Association, TT Energy Chamber and the National Energy Corporation.

Gibbon-Thompson said in addition to forming a steering committee, InvesTT has “interviewed 50 stakeholders across the public sector, private sector, arts and culture, academia, journalists and sports persons. It’s been a very broad-based consultative approach.”
