Manswell leads TT boxing challenge

WITH an unbeaten run on home soil and only six defeats from a  47 fight record four-time National Boxing Champion Kerston Manswell is expected to be the main attraction at the 2004 Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) Champion-ships which gets underway today until June 13 at the Jean Pierre Complex, Mucurapo.

As Trinidad and Tobago are preparing to host the CABA Championships Manswell will be mindful of the task ahead of him as the 2003 heavyweight champion and three time CABA champion in his division. Manswell has copped silver at both the Commonwealth and Pan American Games in 2002, on his return to Trinidad and Tobago he was then awarded the Humming Bird Silver for his achievement in the ring. Going into the championships he has been touted as the “Most Successful Caribbean Boxer” by Amateur Boxing Association of Trinidad and Tobago officials, giving him more responsibility and another title to defend on home soil.
