Police out to arrest Crabs today
POLICE and L-Sporto Crab Connection will face in a clash of unbeaten football teams when the 2004 National Super League continues today. Both the lawmen and Crabs will meet at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima from 6 pm, in the second match of a doubleheader, with Carib squaring off against Maraval Youth Academy in the first encounter two hours earlier. Carib and Maraval Youth Academy were victims of heavy defeats in the first round, with Carib losing 4-0 to Harvard Club at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Saturday while, on the previous day, Maraval were handed a 6-1 trouncing by Crab Connection.
Other teams aiming for a second successive win are Biwater Stokelyvale, who oppose Club Sando at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella from 4 pm; Harvard, who clash with Caroni at the Hasely Crawford Stadium also at 4 pm; WASA Clean and White, who welcome Superstar Rangers to their St Joseph ground; and Eastern Lions Joe Public, who host Medianet San Juan United at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna at 7 pm. In the day’s other fixture, Moruga will square off against the Tobago-based club Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix at the Otis Memorial Park, Moruga at 3.30 pm.
