Canadians donate golf clubs to Public Course

THE TRINIDAD and Tobago Golf Association (TTGA) were the recent beneficiaries of approximately 700 golf clubs, which were handed over by the Canadian High Commission at a recent ceremony at the Chaguaramas Golf Club.

The equipment was collected and donated to the High Commission by former Canadian professional golfer Cathy Sherk, a native of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and her associate Geoff Law. Sherk, who held the number one spot according to Golf Digest in 1978, following victories in both the Canadian and US Championships, turned pro in 1979 and, after a successful career, turned her attention to a golf academy in the Niagara Peninsula, which she has operated for the last decade.
