Demolition whip Runnin Rebels in NSL windball

Nicholas Ramphal with an unbeaten 27 took Demolition of Penal to a nine-wicket victory over Runnin Rebels in their recent encounter in the NSL/Radio 90.5FM windball cricket series. Batting first Runnin Rebels made 41 all out with Nicholas Guevara taking three wickets for four runs. Ramphal who plays for PowerGen in the Carib National League Division One series, then took over and scored 27 not out to clinch the win. Another team in the winners’ row was Strikers United who clipped Summer Slam by eight wickets, thanks to 35 from Jason Ramcharan.

However the biggest victory of the round was achieved by New Recruits of Barrackpore. They tallied an imposing 158 for eight in their 20 overs with R Harrikissoon getting 38. They then humbled Jokers for just 28 runs, as K Jagroo grabbed three wickets for three runs. Bustin Loose was also on the wrong end of an embarrassing loss against Simple Youths as they were bowled out by Lester David who five wickets for three runs. Simple Youths made 81 for nine wickets in their innings with U Bunsee getting 23 runs. Bustin Loose were then shut out for their lowest score in NSL history en route to a crushing 61-run loss. Meanwhile the Radio 90.5FM crew visited Tobago last weekend for the inaugural meeting of teams. The first match in the Sister Isle will be played on June 27 at Shaw Park, Tobago.
