It was a Fantastic Story at gallops

FANTASTIC STORY scorched the Santa Rosa Park, Arima, track in a 1000 metres gallop. A nine-length winner last time out over 1750 metres, Justice Wendell Kangaloo’s American-bred son of Atticus/Romantic Story had clockers staring at each other in disbelief after his run which was completed in 58.84 seconds on Sunday morning. Not to be outdone, Florida Flame too, appeared to be enjoying the sloppy track conditions in posting a time of 1:00.34 over the same trip, while Not This Time was clocked in 1:01.44.

Mucho Tempo, winner of the UPTC Guineas recently, had the older Morgan Heritage at full stretch in their gallop in 1:04.20, while Over And Above a big disappointment in that same race had Sure Wager for company, and they stopped the clock in a handy 1:04.32. Newcomer Ghost Meadow and Premier Attraction zipped over 600 metres in just 34.53 seconds from the boxes, while speedy Royal Miss was timed in 36.18 seconds for the same trip. Trini To D Bone had Private Affair for company to clock 37.18 seconds over the 600 metres trip.

Kato, another to finish down the field in the Guineas was all over Stonebright and Bada Bing in their gallop over the same distance in 35.63 seconds, while Atlantic Breeze and Moulin Rouge, who has not seen action for some time recorded 36.58 seconds. Yesterday, most of the horses from the Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj barn were seen at the gallops with Sweet N’ Beautiful, All Set To Battle and Music Man completing an 800 metres run in a good 49.15 seconds. Melanie My Love looked lively in an 1600 metres gallop in 1:44.94 seconds, while Java In Style went over 1000 metres in a handy 1:09.16 seconds.
