SFA winners to get $12,000

WINNING team in this year’s Southern Football Association Petrotrin-sponsored Super League will collect $12,000. This was announced recently by the oil company’s corporate communications manager Anton Corneal recently. He said his company planned to splurge $100,000 on SFA competitions this years and again next. Action in the league will kick off tomorrow at various venues in the Southland. Apart from the winner’s prize, the runners-up get $8,000; third $5,000; fourth $3,000; fifth $2,000; sixth $1,500; seventh $1,000. And there will be a $500 prize for the Most Valuable Player, $200 for the best goalkeeper, while the Five Players of the Year will get $200 each. A $5,000 prize awaits the winner of the Executive Cup with $2,500 going to the beaten finalists, and the Man of the Match in the semi-finals will get $200 each, while the Player of the Game in the final gets $500. Also, winners of the Petrotrin League Cup receive $4,000 and the runners-up $2,000, while the topo player in each semi-final will get $200 and the Man of the Match in the final $500.
